ALL ABOUT MRS. FAIRCHILD
My name is Shawna Fairchild and I will be your child's teacher this year. I wanted to take this opportunity to introduce myself and tell you about my past experience and goals for this year.
I am originally from Minnesota and moved to Wisconsin for my undergraduate college experience. I graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a degree in Elementary Education Preschool - Grade 3. I recently received my Masters in Education with a Reading Endorsement from Kent State. My concentration on early childhood education is based on my love for young children and my belief that early childhood education shapes the rest of a child's educational goals and accomplishments.
My teaching experience includes:
1 year of teaching Preschool at Head Start in Madison, Wisconsin,
3 years of teaching first grade at The Edge Academy in Akron, Ohio and
3 years of teaching kindergarten at James A. Garfield Elementary.
I truly cannot wait to begin another year of teaching Kindergarten. I am at a perfect point in my career where I am excited and motivated to give your children the best education possible.
My goals for your children are not only to expose them to the Ohio Academic Standards but to instill a love of learning from a very young age. I aim to challenge your child, provide support and make education FUN!
