Agenda
Daily assignments and special dates should be found in your child's student agenda. Each day at a special time, we stop and everyone must get out their agenda and copy from the Homework Board any assignments or notes. The agenda should come home everyday except Friday unless your child has not completed all assignments due for the week.
Daily Schedule
In the morning we do math, social studies, science/health. We use a workbook for Everyday Math which is for practice and will not come home unless your child is absent. Social studies and science are not done everyday, but are done as a unit. Reading/language,spelling are in the afternoon. We will do Reading Counts and it is a part of your child's reading grade. Our specials are all in the afternoon from 1:00 to 1:45 everyday. Those students receiving Title 1/Ohio Reads leave all at the same time in the afternoon.
Information/Notes
Your child has a mailbox in which all notes and forms from the office are placed as I receive them. It is your child's responsibility to get their mail at the end of the day from their mailbox.
Grades
Assignments sent home are given points in the grade book to receive full credit they must be completed and turned in on time. Quiz and test grades count based on the total number of points or questions asked. Spelling is a combination of in class assignments and test scores.
Homework
Home work assignments are due the next day unless a special date has been given.All assignments are on the white board at the front of the classroom. It will be your child's responsibility to make sure those assignments are written in their agenda and completed on time. All homework that is completed and turned in on time will get full credit. Homework can help your child if in on time to raise a low quiz or test score, but it can also hurt your child if not completed on time.
Projects
We will have several special projects during the year and there will be a rubric and a list of all expectations to be included. In the past we have done a poster All About Me, A Famous Person From Ohio, Branches of the Government, Animal Report, Biographies.
