and Life Skills (7th only)
7th and 8th grade syllabus- Mrs. Rossi
Expectations
- Participate - dress for phys. ed daily
- Be safe - be under control at all times and use good judgment
- Cooperate - do your best to get along
- Be responsible - no horseplay or handling of equipment without permission
- Respect the rights, abilities, and property of others
General Guidelines
- Students must bring a complete change of clothing for class each day. You have a choice of shorts, T-shirts, wind pants, sweats, and white-soled tennis shoes. Street shoes and jewelry are not permitted.
- Students must practice good personal hygiene. Make sure you always have a clean set of clothes. Use deodorant.
- Locker rooms must be kept both clean and quiet.
- Do not take money or anything of value into the locker room. You may put a lock on a locker but it must be removed before you leave class.
-
It would be a good idea to bring an extra set of clothes to put in your school locker in case you happen to forget you clothes some day. Also, bring a sweatshirt in case you go outside when there is a slight chill. Extra socks/shoes would be a good idea in case the grass is wet.
Procedure
- During the hall exchange go to your locker and drop off all books, supplies, purses, etc. Pick up your clothes in a plastic bag or just carry them to the locker room to change. No book-bags. No gum in the gym.
- You are to be in the gym when the bell rings. Dress quickly and quietly and report to the set of bleachers nearest to my office. You will have five minutes at the beginning and the end of class to change.
- After you have dressed at the end of class make sure you are seated in the bleachers prior to the bell for dismissal.
Grading
-
Participation and cooperation. Students will earn two points per day for dressing and participating. Students can receive one unexcused day per semester for forgetting their clothes. More than one day on not dressing results in a five point deduction from their grade. This five point reduction holds true of any student removed from class for disciplinary reasons.
-
Skills testing. There will be points available for various skills testing. If a student attempts the skill they will receive no lower than seven points on a ten point skills test.
-
Possible written tests or quizzes.
