  Rules and Expectations

BE SAFE
    
Walk quietly 
      
Respect the space of others
      Keep hands, feet, and other objects to yourself

BE RESPECTFUL        
     Show respect for others and their property (including mine; my desk is off limits)
     Use appropriate language in all settings
     Do not talk when others are talking

BE RESPONSIBLE
    
Listen and follow directions        
     Actively participate in school
     Understand how your behavior affects others around me

****Be on time for class---- I am defining this as in your seat with the needed supplies and quiet before the bell rings. The class supply list is posted on the board. If you are late, you will be asked to sign the tardy log.

****The materials that you need for language arts and math are located on the bookshelf. You must get those before the bell each day. It's your responsibility to check your folder/binder for make-up work if you are not in class for any reason. I will place any notes, worksheet, and assignments in this folder/binder. It is my expectation that you will ask me if you have any further questions.

****Assignments for students in regular education classes are posted on the board and are updated weekly. Check the board for assignments each day.

Language Arts 8:
This class is designed to introduce 8th grade content standards in English and Language Arts. The following is a list of some of the units which will be covered this year:

Grading System: All work in both Language Arts 8 and Math 8 will be graded on a points system.

My mission is to empower my students to believe that they can learn. I will instill upon my students the necessary characteristics and values to make them successful in their academic career and throughout their life. I will help the students to develop a positive sense of self-worth and importance. My mission as a teacher is to show them the importance of appropriate behavior and communication and to help them achieve to their potential.
